Adopting A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Puppies
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a tiny loving dog, fondly called the love sponge. Traditionally, during Tudor times in the UK Toy Spaniels were quite common as ladies and childrens ' pets, but it was under the Stuarts that they were given the royal title of King Charles Spaniels. King Charles II was infrequently seen without 2 or 3 spaniels at his heels. The red and white strain of Toy Spaniels was bred at Blenheim Palace by many of the Dukes of Marlborough. The breed vanished due to the acceptance of flat faced dogs like Pugs and King Charles Spaniel (also called "Charlies" and known in the United States as the English Toy Spaniel). The breed was reintroduced in the 1920 and in 1945 the Kennel Club granted separate registration for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
To discover more about the breed I would like to recommend looking for a local breed club. A local club will let you interact with members that have been with the breed for a number of years. Further breed information can be gained from the national clubs internet sites.
Selecting a puppy - all puppies are lovable, happy and irresistible. The selection of a reputable, responsible and experienced breeder is the most significant step you can take to assist you in finding a healthy, temperamentally sound puppy that will turn into a similarly healthy and temperamentally sound adult dog that'll be a part of your home for several years to come. Let the breeder steer you, the breeder has observed the puppies since birth and has a understanding into each puppies personality and characteristics.
Are you worthy of buying? A good indicator of how seriously a breeder is will be obvious in their interactions with potential purchasers. Be prepared for the 5th degree interview if they care about placing their puppies. They should be in a position to let you have interaction with the mother to see her temperament (mom unavailable should be a red flag). The breeder should be stressed about the well-being of the puppy after placement and will have questions on your family, schedule, home and yard. The breeder will also require a neuter/spay contract on pet puppies. The harder it is to qualify as a Cavalier puppy new home the higher the chance you are working with a responsible breeder. A top quality breeder will be looking for more than just someone to buy their King Charles Cavalier puppies for sale.
Temperment problems or health issues could be a problem from a poorly bred dog. Imported or shipped in dogs do not permit you to interact with the breeder or the puppies parents. It is worth the investment to do your reasearch and require health testing documentation. You are adding a new family member that will be with you for a long time.
