Dog day care option for a 2 month old puppy?

I'm bringing a 2 month old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Since i work 3-4 days a week for 8 hours i'm thinking about getting a dog walker. Would this be the best choice or should i put him in the dog care? I just want someone to take him out when he needs to pee.

What is the best option for a situation when someone works these amount of hours?

At 8 weeks of age, your puppy wouldn’t have had all of its shots- but it needs to get out of the house.
Yes- it is at risk of picking up illnesses like Parvo because it hasnt been fully immunised. However- between 3-14 weeks is a dogs Critical Stage- this is when your pup will learn everything it needs to learn about the world, how to act in different situations, and how to interact with different animals, dogs, and people.
Without proper socilisation at this age your dog is at high risk of developing behavioural and social problems, and is also more susceptable to health problems.
This has been a long standing argument with vets and behaviouralists. A vet who specialises in canine behaviour, however, will tell you that it is important to get the pup out and about at this age- even if there is a risk.
You can reduce the risk by only allowing your pup near other dogs that have been vaccinated. Puppy play school is a great option.
A dog walker would also be a great option- the pup should only require short walks and will most likely not come across too many dogs.
If you can find a doggy day care to care for your pup it would be ideal- as the people who run the place should be well aware of the risks of disease- and the benefits of socilisation and training at this age, so your pup should be safe.
Pembroke welsh corgis are fantastic dogs- but they are very active- so it is great that you are planning on entertaining your dog when you are not home to care for it! Good luck!

A 2 month old Corgi is too young to go out or to go to doggie day care. The Corgi won’t have had all of his shots until he is 4 months old. Until he has all his shots, you run the risk of your puppy getting parvo so he should not be allowed to walk around.

Doggie day cares will not accept a puppy under 4 months old or without all their shots.

You usually can’t use doggie day care until all the vaccinations are completed at 4mo. A pet walker only walking around your yard for same reason (puppy shouldn’t be exposed to others yet) might be your option.

Leave him in your bathroom…or utility room w/a crate, food & water, and pee pee pads. When you are home work w/him to figure out what the pee pee pads are for. He is too young to be walked outside. He will need to pee about 8x a day….do you know someone willing to do that???
