Baking soda to wash my dog beds?

I already wash the bedding once a month, and bathe my babies regularly. Its not a matter of diet or health.......
That being said, can I use baking soda in the wash with the dog beds to give them a deodorizing boost?
If so, for only two beds, how much do I use? Can I use my detergent too? How about fabric softener? Do I need to do an extra rinse to get it all out? Any draw backs to using it on dog bedding?

Yes you can add baking soda to the wash. It won’t cause any negative effects on the pups. Add 1/2 cup to the wash cycle, with the soap. I would recommend using a detergent that is mild, such as a free & clear or one without fragrances. I would not recommend fabric softener as many dogs can be allergic to it, also it will take the bedding longer to dry completely. An extra rinse will not be required to get out the baking soda.
if your dog beds are machine washable by all means wash them and i do reccomend useing baking soda with any wash because it sanitizes and deoderizes clothes and i also reccomend tide because it really gives clothes and stuff a really fresh smell
I’d throw in at least a cupful per load along with the soap, more if the beds are smellier. Then let the load agitate a little bit and then STOP the machine and let the load sit for a while, half an hour maybe. Let it soak. After the load’s done, do a second rinse cycle. Those beds should be good and clean.
If your dogs have itchy skin, don’t use fabric softener. If they don’t, go ahead and try it.
