I watched a video on training dogs and that didn’t work, i read a book on how to stop a dog from biting, and that barely worked, we even went to a training person to make it stop! we do what the girl told us to do but it just makes our dog frustrated and makes her bite even more!

Thats what happened when we took our dog to obedience classes. Thats what comes from inexperienced handlers… Tell him no and send to his bed/kennel or a spot where he has to lay down on a time out and dont give in to its whining. When your ready let it out of its bed. It worked with my dog.
What kind of dog and how old?
take him on long walks or whatever the dog can handle, go to some training classes, and buy him a muzzle collar its the kind that goes over the snout and around the neck.be sure its the right size. get him used to random people, most training classes will do that and if he does it right give him treats,
Is there a certain time it bites? Is it just trying to get your attention when its excited to see you? Or is it an aggresive issue with food or toys?
You could try come kind of deterant like a bitter tasting spray you can buy from the petstore, spray it on you hands and when the dog bite makesure you say "no bite" forcefully so the dog assciates the command with the taste.
Also try treats if you can manage to get your dog to stop biting for a length on time.
Trade your hand for something more appropriate. When the dog bites you give it a rope bone instead. When it takes the bone instead praise him/her.
With aggresive behavior obedience is the best option. Serious obedience training will solve the problem either way. Training your dog to listen to any command not just sit and stay but every command you say is respect. And a dog that respects and listens to you not only behaves but loves you all the more. It seems hard in the begging but if you stick with it eventually you will be able to teach your dog anything even "no bite"
Don’t hit him/her, why he/she bites make a loud yelping sound (like a dog) and turn your back to him/her. This will let him/her playing time is over (If he/she is nipping when playing.) If he/she is actually biting you not when playing and is not a young puppy, try going to another dog course/trainer, because it sounds either like your dog is very misbehaved (which probably isn’t the case) or you have a bad trainer.
Remember to reward your dog when he/she is being good and is not biting.
Hope I helped.
First of all vizlas are beautiful dogs! Lucky you.
Now as for the biting, make sure you rule out any medical issues that may cause him to bite. Is it when you touch a part of his body? Is it sore? Is it when you touch his food? Put on his leash?
There are two schools of thought to deal with this. And I have seen both work.
1. Punishment and Reprimand. It sounds mean but you need to assert yourself as the dominant in the house. If you "spank" your dog always on the rear, never with anything other than your hand, and then she goes right in the crate. To assert yourself when she gets nippy, and it may seem funny but it can help, roll her onto her side with one hand on her neck (to keep her head down) and another controlling her body. Firmly say no! and growl. Yes growl. Then once she stops resisting, right into the crate.
2. Eliminating the need to bite. If she is nippy around food time. Prepare her dish on the counter. Keep her on a leash and make her sit while you set the dish on the floor. Do not allow her to eat until you give the okay. Invest in a choker (no prongs needed) and keep her on a leash in the house. Respond to any unwelcomed behavior with a quick jerk and then a command such as "down". If she bites in regards to her toys….guess what? No more toys.
I know alot of this sounds harsh but remember that her instincts are to test you. You need to be dominant. If all else fails consider the possibility that she is unfit for pethood. I know she is dear to your heart, as mine are to me, but she is a guest in your home and needs to follow the rules. If continues to exhibit aggressive behavior you can also contact the breeder. Most gurantee temperment. I have raised dogs all my life and work in a vet hospital for years. These are tried and true techniques.
I know you care enough to keep it up. Good Luck.
Well what you need to do is when he bites then put pressure on his tongue and he’ll stop. Apply pressure for 15 minutes and then add a few seconds everytime he does it. Also, try combining methods. When he bites make a high pitched yelp and put pressure on his tongue and then put him on the floor and ignore him. Maybe a array of bad things hiappening to him when he bites and him being ignored as a result of bitting will be enough.
to completely stop my moms 7 pound chihuahua from biting it was a combination of ignoring her i.e. turning our backs or getting up and/or leaving the room and lemon juice. we would put just a little bit on our arms, legs, hands, whatever she liked to bite and when she’d bite us she got the nasty taste. the vet suggested that one and it worked. Just be sure not to use too much.
Well, many dogs don’t like getting nipped on the ear so when dogs start biting. Nip the tip of her ear. She/He should stop after a couple of time.
